The purpose of this performance analysis of the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) treatment system was to assess: The degree to which the Victorian government-funded AOD treatment system currently meets established performance targets and benchmarks and the degree to which the service profile reflects current best practice treatment models. The degree to which the Victorian government-funded AOD treatment system is currently focused on and supported to meet client need, respond to population demand, and achieve government objectives and strategic goals, including analysis of the ability of the system to respond to changing drug trends. Factors that currently impact upon system performance such as management systems including the interface between government and government-funded agencies and the efficiency of resource use. The extent to which government funding and guidelines shape performance should also be considered. The adequacy, comprehensiveness and meaningfulness of existing performance measurement tools and processes.
